Well...
... it's a bit early, but so far twenty-one's turning out to be quite good (:

I woke up to my babies, Domo Sr. and Jr., greeting me a Happy Birthday:

They also moonlight as Hell's welcome wagon.

Love, love, love (:

Mama...
... mama, I'm in love!

Foodies are awesome. If only I had the motivation to try out all the recipes I've wanted to make at some point or the other over the past few years, I'm pretty sure I'd have to change the blog to Two Men Walked Into a Restaurant Full of Macarons, Brownies, Cupcakes, Tarts, Quiches and Pies.

Unfortunately my physical self isn't as passionate about the subject as my mind is; I do, however, plan on trying most of them out when I'm back in Brunei, focusing mainly on Bruneian and Malaysian cuisine, because God knows how much I miss the stuff when I'm in Brisbane, and you can only stomach laksa from a can (GASP!) so much before the sodium from the various Instant [insert dish here] varieties leave you feeling like a big, bloated, salty, beached whale. And on the other spectrum is my love love love for making sweet treats, or rather, decorating them. I don't believe I could call myself a true artist, since what I suppose passes off as "artistic" notions seem to come and go at a bi-yearly interval, but if there's one thing that I adore, it's presentation: the making, rolling of a fondant, the smooth strokes, lines and curves from a piping bag. Ah, bliss. The good news is that my household consists of 4 ravenous males (out of 6) who operate as human garbahj-disposals; the bad news is that it's called garbahj for a reason. A not-so-delicious reason, not to mention unhealthy. Myself, I'm not a big fan of overly-sweet confectionaries, but I've encountered enough cakes and pastries to believe quite adamantly that there is the perfect range of sweetness that appeals to the masses, and most importantly, me and my parents. Now this might turn into an advertisment, but honestly, Giorgie really does fit the bill when it comes to this, hence I only outsource my cupcake needs from her. If things manage to fall into place and my picky tastebuds are suitably satisfied by my own creations, however, then I'd be a happy lady.

Damn, I'm hungry. Time for a mid-afternoon nom-session.

P.S. If any foodies are reading this, you know what would be awesome to make? Curry donuts. Seriously. I have been nothing short of fanatical ahout the stuff since who knows when, and I do believe I would achieve Nirvana exactly ninety-eight times, were I to find the perfect recipe for it. Cue the gospel music.

It's...
... a habit of mine, I've realised, to post multiple posts in a single day, then disappear for random periods of time; and I apologise to whoever still reads my blog for that. I do check my tracker to see if I even have a following, and it seems like as of late I've been getting quite a few hits from Norway. Never having been to Norway or anywhere else that far West of the world (my geographic adventures around the globe stop firmly in the Middle East), I'm not quite sure how this has ended up on various IPs over there, but funnily enough I get more hits from Norway than I have from Australia, with Brunei only barely leading the pack. I have no idea how to say thank you in Norsk (Babel has been the cause for many an embarassing situation), but thank you (:

In other news, my hands have been itching, an itch that can only be scratched by rubbing them agaisnt the corner of the table.

Wait, what?

No, really. I haven't drawn anything in quite some time, so a few days ago a torrent of stuff just flew out of my fingertips, and I find that I unleash terror on unsuspecting grapefruits.

Love (:

I...
... believe that you need a certain measure of insanity to keep you sane; I suppose seeing the ideas that come out from other people can make you feel like the whimsical thoughts in your head are a bit more... acceptable. Being a future businesswoman, though, I promote creativity when it comes to advertisements, and thankfully have seen quite a few... eccentric, to say the least, commercials; none of which could have surfaced without what I imagine to be men and women in multicoloured hats and suspenders - and little much else - spouting the most random schemes and conceptions. So hurrah for insanity, hurrah for creativity!

N.B: If you happen to feel classy, feel free to draw a fine moustache and sub "hurrah" with "huzzah".

But anyways, these ads, I adore:

and what I think is an absolute classic:

About a month til I can stuff my stuff with horribly, disgustingly, sickeningly delicious Bruneian food! Fair warning to the vendors at the Pasar Malam and G over at Giorgie's Sweet Tooth Treats: I'll take all you can make :D

So far plans over the summer are: going to KL with my family in December, finding a job, and possibly a trip to either KK or KL with some friends; as yet nothing is concrete, but I am sort of looking forward to checking out the new sights that have apparently popped up around my lovely district. The Airport Mall and a Times Square? Does this mean The Mall in Gadong will be reduced to whatever glory is left of Yayasan over in Bandar? Dun dun duuuunnnn. Only time will tell. At least none of you will be seeing me on the road for a while, thanks to the jackass (it just occurred to me that this is the first time I've ever used that particular expletive. Interesting.) that stole my wallet during the AUG Futsal Tournament, and with it my driver's license, Identity Card, some much-needed money, some bank cards AND the letter from Ana. May your underwear cause much itching and redness, you foul creature.

Grr.

I just had to throw this in for good measure :3
