Tomorrow...
... is Raya in Brisbane~

Told my sister to make sure she doesn't listen to her iPod when visiting our relatives' houses; she tends to be quite shy and awkward on account of all the Malay, and she won't exactly have me to buangkes with. But no doubt the money'll make for a pretty good buffer.

I miss my mummy.

And to the rest of you, Selamat Hari Raya (: Maaf zahir dan batin.

God bless.

Losing...
... contact with people is a topic hat frequents my thoughts, what with distance and assignments, and the eventual segregation from lack of communication. And I do admit to caring little when this happens, the effect of it happening on an annual basis and all.

But then there are certain people I'd have to appreciate for trying to keep that friendship going, who would accept all the new people who come into their lives, but still retain a place for the people who are physically absent, instead of the subconscious move of replacing the role someone played. Y'know, the Joker, the Shoulder, the Jerk, and everyone who stands in between.

And one of those few, is a certain someone I literally owe a part of my life to.

Happy 19th Birthday to Nazeerul Rahman, the second-youngest of the Panat 5, and the definition of the word "cheeky".

Love you, sayang (:

You...
... know what's nasty?

I was boiling some potatoes for my Shepherd's Pie, and when I reached into the utensils drawer, I pulled out a fork that looked like someone had used it to untangle their oily tresses.

If you've ever used a fork to scrape out the tiny condiments in an IndoMee sachet, you'll know what that looks like.

My mum's warned me before about the realities of living with someone. For the first few weeks of my living here everything went pretty well, since everyone who's lived here already knows me, but it's pretty much gone downhill since then. For example, because my room's the closest to the kitchen, I've been bestowed the honour of getting the first whiff of garbage that should've been taken out quite a few weeks before it started smelling like it did.

Thanks to that, I now know what evil smells like.

I don't really ask for much, all people really need to do is wash their own dishes and pots and pans, take out the trash and put things back where the got it. Back in Brunei I probably wouldn't have bothered, what with my maid's presence spoiling any perception I had of the word "chores", but my oh my, I feel like one of those creepy kids in 50s ads, complete with plastic smiles that would have paedophiles consider repenting.

pictured: my melted brains

I'm starting to get suspicious about a roomate of mine (I live with 4 other people, including Di). When I walked out of my room at 10ish, I found her standing in the kitchen; she looked at me, went "You just woke up" and gave me a smile not unlike the child up there.

Freaky.

Random...
... plugging for my cupcake angel, who is now offering Red Velvet rolls for Hari Raya :D

It's bad enough I've missed 3 Eids before, and now I'm looking at at least another 3 years of missing out on all the subliiime things I love about Brunei. Nothing beats that tiny flutter in your stomach when you hear the Azan during the first Raya. Hands down, the best way to wake up in the morning. I remember sleeping on my mum's lap after she'd finish her Subuh prayer, going downstairs and seeing my parents putting the finishing touches on the decorations, and I'd feel so... cleansed, and utterly unburdened.

Damn nostalgia.

What better way to incorporate a new edge, a new twist to one of the most celebrated occasions in the country (besides via fashion) than to have your guests say "Eh, apa lagi ni?", take a bite of the Red Velvet Cupcake-turned-Roll and have bliss written all over their faces? Maybe they might even do what my siblings and I did last Raya: one of my brothers, being an avid fan of Patchi chocolates, would ask for my cell, grab a handful of the best-tasting ones when he thought nobody was looking, and slip them to me with my phone(skiiiill), a smile and the record for Most Failed Attempt at Disguising Glee.

He's a 24-year old Tae Kwon Do black belt.

See, everyone has the prerogative to act half their age, it's like Christmas.

But anyways. Put it into perspective: I am not a sweet tooth, I get sick of cookies, and can't stand eating a block of chocolate or KitKats (cue gasp from Rid), and most, if not all, cupcakes besides my own are just too sweet for my taste. It is probably the least stereotypical faction of my being as a female. But somehow G takes the [cup]cake. I don't know what she puts in those things, but for the sake and good of all that is pure and holy, you need to try them. And I'm sure the people who "happen" to be around whenever I order some would agree.

Join the following.

And G, I think I should get comission for any extra business I give you. In cupcakes, naturally. Hohoho.

Oh, congratulations to Abang Sufi for getting first place in the Advanced Category of the Japanese speech contest the other week (:

I've...
... been wanting to get a fighting fish for my room for a while now, but after watching that one South Park episode, I'm highly reconsidering it.

But on the other hand, I'm considering going to a Jonas Brothers concert if it means I get to see Mickey Mouse beat one of them up (:

I don't know why, but there's been a piece of french fry that's been lying on the floor near the bathroom. I am now conducting an experiment to see how long it'll take for my roommates to bother picking it up, or at least how long it takes for it to be stepped on. It's been 2 days, I think I'll give it maybe another 3.

"It's...
... so simple.
It;s this moment.
No romanticism.
Just a choice.

We're on the ride
We're on the wave
We're on the constant.
It's a choice.

No pain.
No anguish.
Just Peace, Love and Truth.
Your weapon
Your flowers
The choice is yours.

All is an illusion
But what is - in the moment.

Our creation; our chimera.
Our material substance; our specter.
Our words; our woe.
Our drugs; our drop.
Our television; our tragedy.
Our group; our grief.
Our competition; our cataclysm.
Our fame; our foolish fires.
Our games; our gulf.
Our country; our cemetery.
Our trophies; our tomb.
Our image; our illusion.
Our politics; our pain.
Your relationship within Your Universe;
Your Peace with the One.
Here; Now."

You and I both, love. You and I both (:
